Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Wednesday said the SSC has decided to conduct the recruitment test for government jobs in 15 languages. The decision was taken to ensure that no youth in the country is deprived of jobs.
Addressing the 14th Hindi Advisory Committee meeting of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, he said the historic decision would inspire local youth and encourage regional languages.
The minister said it was recently decided to conduct recruitment tests for government jobs in 15 Indian languages so that no youth of the country would miss out on job opportunities due to language barriers. These languages will be Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Oriya, Urdu, Punjabi, Manipuri and Konkani.
Referring to the examinations to be conducted by the SSC, he said that in recent years, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasis has been placed on promoting Indian regional languages besides official languages. The government's initiative will enable millions of students to take examinations in their local languages.
