Indian Railways: Rail fares will not be increased in the name of redevelopment of stations, Ashwini Vaishnav gave relieved news

Redevelopment of Railway Stations: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has dispelled passenger doubts by saying that around Rs 25,000 crore will be allocated through the current budget for the redevelopment project.  He said that the project aims to facilitate seamless travel for passengers from all sections of the society.  "Prime Minister Modi is working to uplift the lives of the common people," the Railway Minister told a news conference here.  This is also the objective of the station redevelopment.  We want to have world-class stations without burdening them.  We have not increased fares or imposed any fees in the name of station redevelopment.
The Railways plans to redevelop about 1,300 major stations in the country as 'Amrit Bharat Stations'  Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of 508 'Amrit Bharat Station' on Sunday.  Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan will develop 55 such stations each at a cost of Rs 4,000 crore, Madhya Pradesh 34 stations at a cost of Rs 1,000 crore and Maharashtra 44 stations at a cost of Rs 1,500 crore  will go.  Besides, railway stations in several states including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala will be redeveloped.
Railways is training around 9,000 engineers to be part of the station redevelopment project to make them aware of the nuances of the project, including analysis of contract documents, architecture, design and safety, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said.  He said that no discrimination has been done with any state for the project.
