The Supreme Court on Tuesday also heard the case on the violence in Manipur.  The CJI also asked former High Court judges to form a committee to take details of damages, compensation, dates of recording of statements of victims under Sections 162 and 164, etc.  CJI said that,"We will also look at which cases and FIRs should be handed over to the CBI for investigation. The government should come to us with a solution."
What will the committee of former judges do?
"We will decide the scope of the committee, which will go there and review the relief and rehabilitation," the CJI said.  We are clear about the fact that it is impossible to hand over the investigation of 6500 FIRs to the CBI.  The state police, on the other hand, cannot be entrusted with the responsibility.  So what do we do?  That has to be considered.  "All those who died in Manipur were our relatives," the CJI said.  The Solicitor General said there were still many bodies in mortuaries for which no claimants had come forward.  After all these facts and arguments, the next hearing in the Manipur case is now scheduled for Monday, August  The DGP will have to be present during the meeting.
The Supreme Court hearing on Tuesday presented many facts and raised many questions from the court.  CJI said ,“We have to know from the CBI what the limits of the CBI infrastructure are.
