The Under-19 Men's Cricket World Cup is to be played in Sri Lanka next year. Namibia have now qualified for the World Cup. Namibia achieved this by becoming the champions of the African Region qualifying tournament. Namibia are the third team to secure a ticket to the 2024 Under-19 World Cup through qualifying tournaments.
Last month, New Zealand secured their place in the World Cup by winning the East-Pacific qualifiers and Nepal the Asian qualifiers. India are the most successful team in the 50-over tournament. Last year, Yash Dhul led India to their fifth Under-19 World Cup title by beating England.
A total of 16 teams are scheduled to participate in the 2024 Under-19 World Cup. Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Ireland, Pakistan, South Africa, hosts Sri Lanka, West Indies and Zimbabwe got direct entry for the World Cup. The remaining five teams were to be decided through the region qualifiers. Namibia, New Zealand and Nepal have now qualified through the regional qualifiers.
