PM Modi inaugurates new integrated terminal building of Port Blair airport

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is scheduled to conduct the third orbit maneuver of Chandrayaan-3 between 2 pm and 3 pm today.  That is, the orbit is going to change.  Now, in all Earth Bound Orbit maneuvers, only the apogee will be changed.  That means more distance from the Earth's surface.  The aim is to reach Chandrayaan-3 to a distance of 100,000 km by July 31.
 After the third orbit maneuver, the apogee will also change in the fourth or fifth Earth bound maneuver.  Currently, Chandrayaan-3 is orbiting in an elliptical orbit with a perigee of 226 km and an apogee of 41,604 km.  The orbit maneuvering will extend the distance to 41,604 km.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday virtually inaugurated the new integrated terminal building (NITB) of the Veer Savarkar International Airport at Port Blair in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, who reached the airport, unveiled a statue of VD Savarkar on the premises and took a tour of the establishment.
He was accompanied by the Union Minister of State for Road, Transport and Highways and Civil Aviation, General (Retd.) VK Singh.
During the virtual inauguration of the terminal building, PM Modi today said, "Till now, the capacity of the present terminal was to handle 4,000 tourists everyday. However, with this new terminal, the capacity has increased to 11,000 tourists."
In the last nine years, we have sensitively rectified the mistakes of the erstwhile governments and also created new facilities .A new model of development has emerged in India, which is of taking everyone along. This model is 'Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas'."
