Russia launched overnight airstrikes in southern and eastern Ukraine using drones and possibly ballistic missiles, the Ukrainian Air Force said Tuesday morning . The southern port of Odessa and the regions of Mykolayev, Donetsk, Kherson, Zaporizhia and Dnipropetros were at risk of Russian drone strikes, the air force said on the Telegram messaging app.
The air force also said Russia could use ballistic weapons to attack the areas of Poltava, Cherkassy, Dnipropetros, Kharkiv and Kirovohrad.
The attack comes against the backdrop of Russia suspending its participation in the Black Sea Grain Export Deal on Monday just hours before it was due to expire . Moscow said it would return to the agreement only if its terms were met.
