The SC will hear the release of 11 convicts of Bilkis Bano from August 7

The Supreme Court will start hearing the petitions filed against the release of all 11 convicts in the Bilkis Bano gangrape case.  The hearing will start on August 7.
 A bench of Justice BV Nagaratna and Justice Ujjwal Bhuiyan will hear the case.  The court has given three weeks to all the petitioners to file their replies to the Gujarat government's reply.  The hearing will be held on August 7, three weeks later.
 Gujarat's Bilkis Bano was gang-raped during the 2002 Godhra riots.  Moreover, seven members of Bilkis' family were murdered.  Eleven people were convicted in the case.  They were released under the amnesty policy last year.  A petition was filed in the Supreme Court objecting to this.
