Sports Desk:
In the first ODI match played between India and Sri Lanka in Guwahati, Indian team's star fast bowler Umran Malik broke his own record by throwing the fastest ball.  He bowled the ball at a speed of 156 km in this match.  Earlier, he had bowled the ball at a speed of 155 in the T20 match played against Sri Lanka.  He broke this record in ODIs.  Umran has become the fastest bowler in international cricket from India.
Controversy broke out after this fast ball by Umran Malik.  Actually, Hindi and English broadcasters showed different speeds of Umran's ball.  After this debate, it is now believed that Umran Malik will not be given the credit for this fast.  The English broadcaster showed the speed of his ball at 145.7 km per hour, while the Hindi broadcaster told its speed at 155 km per hour.  If the record of this fast ball is not recorded in Umran's name, then he will remain the fastest bowler from India.  Umran took 3 wickets in the first ODI against Sri Lanka after spending 57 runs in 8 overs.
Significantly, in this first ODI played in Guwahati, the Indian team won by 67 runs.  With this win, the team took a 1-0 lead in the series.  In this match, the team's star batsman King Kohli scored his 73rd international and 45th ODI century.
