The Election Commission has announced the dates for the Gujarat Assembly elections. Voting will be held in two phases for the state's 182-seat assembly. The first phase of voting will be held on December 1 and the second phase will be held on December 5. The counting of votes will be done on December 8. Gujarat currently has more than four crore 90 lakh voters. According to the Election Commission, 51 thousand 782 thousand polling booths have been set up this time.
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said in the press conference, "I am happy to inform that three lakh 24 thousand 422 new voters will vote for the first time this time in the Gujarat Assembly elections. The total number of polling stations in the state is 51,782. At least 50 percent of the polling stations set up in the state will have webcasting arrangements.
