Newsdesk:
Parliament on Friday constituted a 39-member Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to consider the bill that provides for holding parliamentary and assembly elections simultaneously in the country, i.e. one country one election. The responsibility of chairing this JPC has been given to former Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP PP Chaudhary. Sources in the Lok Sabha Secretariat have confirmed this to PTI. With the proposal to nominate 12 members of this committee being approved by voice vote in the Rajya Sabha, a 39-member committee was formed.
