Newsdesk:
India has again maintained its position in the top 10 countries in a new report assessing efforts being made by countries around the world to tackle climate change. But even though India has slipped two notches compared to last year, India's performance is considered commendable.
The Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) 2025, published by think tanks Germanwatch, the New Climate Institute and Climate Action Network International, evaluated 63 countries and the European Union. These countries are responsible for 90 percent of global emissions. India ranks 10th in the index, which places it among the highest performing countries.
