On the occasion of World Rhino Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated his government's commitment to protect rhinos and appreciated the efforts of those involved in their conservation. World Rhino Day is celebrated on 22 September every year to highlight global efforts to conserve rhinos.
“Today on World Rhino Day, let us reiterate our commitment to protect one of the most unique creatures on our planet - rhinos. Congratulations to all involved in rhino conservation efforts over the past several years. It is a matter of great pride that India has a large number of one horned rhinos. I also miss my visit to Kaziranga in Assam and I urge you all to go there too."
