Rare Dung ​Beetle species found in Meghalaya’s forest near Nongkhyllem Wildlife Sanctuary

Researchers have made an important discovery from elephant dung in the forests of Meghalaya.  A species of dung beetle- Onitis bordati in bamboo-dominated secondary forest near Nongkhillem Wildlife Sanctuary.
 The study conducted by Seena Narayanan Karimbumkara and Priyadarshanan Dharma Rajan of the Ashok Trust for Research in Ecology and Environment (ATREE) identified the Onitis bordati species in the forest near the sanctuary.
