Home Minister Amit Shah on September 7 lashed out at both the Congress and the National Conference (NC). Ahead of the Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, he criticized the plans of both parties to re-implement Article He told former Congress president Rahul Gandhi to stop fooling people. Jammu and Kashmir is scheduled to hold assembly elections this month and early October. The Congress has made an agreement with the NC for this.
During his two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Shah said the Congress and the National Conference were claiming that they would restore the state status of Jammu and Kashmir. But, only the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi can do that. He dismissed as meaningless the Opposition's claim of restoring state status. “He (Gandhi) had also promised to restore state status in his speech in Parliament in 2019.
