Riohlang Dhar has become the second Indian woman assistant referee to be selected for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in the Dominican Republic. Riohlang, 34, from Meghalaya, was included in FIFA's list of 38 match officials on Friday. She will be present in the tournament, which runs from October 10 to November 3, in the role of official. Uwena Fernandes is the first Indian woman assistant referee to play an official role in the World Cup. Uwena was in charge at the 2016 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Jordan. “My appointment for the World Cup is a great honour who works in the Meghalaya Police Department. I have to work hard to live up to FIFA expectations. I will also make sure that I will be there as a representative of India. I will do my best to keep the flag of India high. Refereeing has been part of his life since 2009, Riohlang said.
