Haryana khap panchayats to honor Olympic Wrestler Vinesh Phogat with Gold Medal

The Sarv Khap Panchayat Mandal, (a group of 24 khaps) of Jind, has announced that it will honor Olympic wrestler Vinesh Phogat with a gold medal on August 25 at the Nandal Khap Chabutra in Rohtak district.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the block presidents of the Sarv Khap Panchayat Mandal of Jind. The meeting was attended by representatives of various khap panchayats from Haryana,said khap leaders.
Vinesh Phogat, who was disqualified due to 100 grams weight from the Olympics following which she couldn't secure a medal, is invited by the khap panchayat representatives of the state to attend the event.
