Rahul Naveen becomes new director of ED

The government has appointed IRS officer Rahul Naveen as the director of the Enforcement Directorate.  He is a 1993 batch IRS officer.  He was until now acting director of the agency.  He was made acting director of ED on September 15 last year after Sanjay Kumar Mishra's tenure expired. Before being appointed as the director in charge of the ED, Rahul Naveen worked with Sanjay Mishra.  Working with them, he gained experience running the agency.  A committee headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appointed Rahul Naveen as the head of the ED.  For example, he has been promoted from acting director to ED chief.
