Raman Deka will be the new Governor of Chhattisgarh

Ramen Kumar Deka has been appointed as the new Governor of Chhattisgarh, the Rashtrapati Bhavan said in a statement.  Ramen Kumar Deka will be the tenth Governor of Chhattisgarh.  Vishwa Bhushan Harichandan, who was appointed the ninth Governor of Chhattisgarh on February 23, 2023, has not been given charge of any state yet.  

 Two-time MP from Assam and former BJP state president, newly appointed Governor of Chhattisgarh Ramen Kumar Deka is a founding member of the BJP in Assam.  Governor Deka, who became active in politics around 1980, was first elected MP from Mangaldoi seat in Assam in 2009 and again in 2014.
