Laxman Prasad Acharya becomes Governor of Assam

Laxman Prasad Acharya has been made the new Governor of Assam with additional charge of Manipur.  Gulab Chand Kataria has been made Governor of Punjab, replacing Banwarilal Purohit.  The Rashtrapati Bhavan has announced this.  Laxman Prasad Acharya has replaced Gulab Chand Kataria, who has also been appointed as the administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh, Rashtrapati Bhavan said in a statement on Saturday night.
