Vadhavan Port: India's first mega port set to boost sea-based trade

The central government has given a big gift to Maharashtra after the Lok Sabha elections.  The Modi government, which has come to power for the third consecutive term, has approved the Rs 76,000 crore Wadhawan port project in Maharashtra within days of taking office.  This is considered a major achievement of the Shinde government in Maharashtra.
According to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the Wadhawan port will be among the top 10 ports in the world.  Moreover, this initiative of the central and Maharashtra governments will provide employment to about 10 lakh people in Maharashtra.
