India's Rameshbabu Pragyananand has beaten Magnus Carlson for the first time in the classical chess. The young Indian defeated the world No. 1 with white seals in the third round of Norway Chess 2024.
With the victory, 18-year-old Indian Rameshbabu Pragyananand has climbed to the leaders position in the prestigious tournament at Carlson's home ground.
18-year-old grandmaster Rameshbabu Pragyanand scored his first win over world No. 1 Magnus Carlsen in the third round of the Norway Chess 2024 tournament in Stavenger on Wednesday (May 29).
R Pragyanananda scored 5.5 out of 9 points at the end of the third round of the Norway Chess Tournament. On the other hand, American grandmaster Fabio Caruana finished second with three points after his win over GM Ding Liren on Wednesday.
