Chidanand S Naik's 'Sunflower Were the First Once to Know' bagged La Cinef's first prize at the 77th Cannes Film Festival on Thursday. This is one of India's biggest wins in Cannes. The Mysore doctor-turned-filmmaker actor made the film from the Indian Institute of Film and Television in Pune.
The film 'Sunflower Were the First Once to Know' is based on Kannada folk tale. Its story is about an old woman. The film has been a huge success winning the first prize of La Cinef at the Cannes Film Festival. The third prize in the La Cinef competition went to Mansi Maheshwari of Meerut's animated film 'Bunnyhood'.
