More than 5 million trees of large agricultural land in India disappeared between 2018 and 2022 partly due to changed agricultural practices, which is alarming.  This is according to new research published in the journal Nature Sustainability.  The researchers said that a noticeable trend is emerging in which agroforestry systems are being converted into rice fields, even though a certain loss rate may occur naturally.
