Swadesh, a unique exhibition showcasing India's diverse and vibrant folk and tribal art traditions, was held in Dubai. Organized under the banner of Vidisha Creations, the program aims to give more recognition to lesser known art forms from different regions of the country.
The 'Swadesh' exhibition focused on lesser-known art forms such as Manjula's art and Gond art, which are often influenced by the more famous Mithila painting. "In the same state like Bihar, we have many rich artistic traditions like Tikuli art and Manjusha art besides Mithila art," said curator Vidisha Pandey. "However, many of these art forms are relatively unknown to the wider public."
