Chinese Ambassador in India: Relations between India and China have been tense over the past few years, which has also affected diplomatic arrangements.  That is why, after nearly 18 months, the Chinese Ambassador to India has arrived to take up his duties.  China nominated Xu Feihong as its ambassador to New Delhi, who arrived in India on Friday (May 10) along with his wife Tan Yuxiu.  He arrived in India at a time when tensions on the border with Beijing remain high.
The post of Chinese ambassador to India had been vacant for nearly 18 months, the longest gap in four decades.  Xu Feihong said China is ready to work with India to understand each other's concerns and find mutually acceptable solutions to "specific issues" through dialogue.  He made the remarks amid the long-running Indo-China military standoff in eastern Ladakh.  Feihong is a former Chinese ambassador to Afghanistan and Romania.
