The Manipur government has introduced a 'no work, no pay' rule for state employees who are absent from offices without genuine and legitimate reasons. A circular was issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms. It said it had received information that many officers were absent from offices or not coming on duty.
Officers who are unable to come to their offices due to the prevailing law and order situation in the state have been posted in deputy commissioners, line departments or field level functions, the circular said. so that they can continue their work or fulfill their responsibilities from there.
