India-Pakistan: Prime Minister Modi congratulates Shahbaz Sharif on his election as Pakistan's PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated PMNL leader Shahbaz Sharif on being sworn in as Pakistan's prime minister.  Shahbaz Sharif was sworn in as Pakistan's prime minister on Monday.  He will take over the reins of the country for the second time after 2022.
 "Congratulations to Shahbaz Sharif on his appointment as Prime Minister of Pakistan," PM Modi said in a post on 'X'.
 President Arif Alvi administered the oath of office to 72-year-old Shahbaz at a ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Aiwan-e-Sadr.  Shahbaz is taking over as PM for the second time at a time when the country is facing economic doldrums.
 Before the dissolution of Parliament, Shahbaz Sharif served as the Prime Minister of the coalition government from April 2022 to August 2023.
