The Indian Navy will commission the MH60R Seahawk (maritime version of the Black Hawk helicopter) multi-purpose helicopter on 06 March 2024 at INS Garuda, Kochi. The Seahawks squadron will be incorporated into the Navy as INS 334.
The addition of the Seahawks will significantly enhance the Indian Navy's naval strength. The helicopter is designed for anti-submarine warfare (ASW), surface conflict (ASUW), search and rescue (SAR), medical and evacuation (MediVac) and vertical replenishment (Vertrap).
