J&K: 1 dead, 2 foreigners missing in Gulmarg avalanche, SDRF team engaged in rescue

Gulmarg Avalanche: A terrible avalanche occurred in the famous ski-resort Gulmarg of North Kashmir on Thursday morning.  It was reported that a group of skiers, which included some foreigners, was hit by an avalanche.  As soon as the information was received, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) immediately started rescue operations in the area.  So far, one body has been recovered, two people have been rescued alive, and two foreigners are reported missing.
 Rescue teams are making continuous efforts to find the missing people.  The rescue team is making continuous efforts to find the missing skiers.  The resort administration has advised tourists to stay away from avalanche areas.
 The Meteorological Department had predicted improvement in the weather from Thursday.  Also said that there is a possibility of another round of rain/snowfall between 27th to 29th February.  The minimum temperature was minus one degree Celsius in Srinagar, 10.4 degrees Celsius in Gulmarg and 8.6 degrees Celsius in Pahalgam.  In the Ladakh region, the minimum temperature was minus 12.2 degrees Celsius in Leh city and minus 13.8 degrees Celsius in Kargil.
 The minimum temperature in Jammu city was 9.2 degrees and in Katra it was four degrees Celsius.  The minimum temperature in both Batote and Bhaderwah was minus one degree Celsius and in Banihal it was minus 3.2 degree Celsius.
