Ravichandran Ashwin 500 Test Wickets: Ravichandran Ashwin created history

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has created history in the Rajkot Test match being played between India and England.  Ashwin has completed 500 wickets in Tests.  Ashwin achieved this historic feat by dismissing Jack Crowley on the second day of the match (16 February).  Ravichandran Ashwin is only the second Indian player to touch the mark of 500 wickets in Tests.
Ashwin is the second fastest bowler to take 500 wickets in Test cricket.  Ashwin has achieved this feat in the 98th test match.  The record of taking the fastest 500 wickets in Test is in the name of Muttiah Muralitharan, who achieved this unique feat in the 87th Test.  Former Indian captain Anil Kumble made this record in 105 Tests and late Australian spinner Shane Warne made this record in his 108th Test.  That means Kumble has overtaken Warne and Kumble in terms of taking 500 wickets at the fastest pace.
