UCC Bill Uttarakhand: Registration of live-in relationships mandatory within 1 month

After the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code in Uttarakhand, it will be mandatory to register live in relationships on the web portal of the state. The couple can be sentenced to six months imprisonment and fine of 25 thousand or both for not registration. On the basis of the receipt that the couple will get as registration, they can get a house, hostel or PG for rent. Read below some of the provisions of UCC:-
 Women's marriage age increased to 21 years.
• Wedding registration is compulsory.
• Live-in couples informing parents about their decision.
•Ban on the practice of 'Halala' and 'Iddat'.
• Polygamy is illegal.
• Equal right to divorce husband-wife.
• Recommendation for population control.
