PM Modi reached Rameshwaram and took a dip in the sea

Ram temple consecration ceremony is to be held in Ayodhya on 22 January.  Before this, PM Modi is visiting many temples in the country.  Prime Minister Modi is on a tour of Tamil Nadu these days.  During this, Prime Minister Modi took a holy bath at 'Angi Teerth' beach in Rameshwaram.  After taking a dip in the sea, worshiped at Lord Ramanathaswamy temple.  PM Modi, seen wearing a Rudraksha rosary, offered prayers at the ancient Shiva temple Ramanathaswamy Temple in Tamil Nadu.  He was given traditional respect by the priests.  He also participated in the bhajans organized in the temple.
 The Shiva temple located in Rameshwaram Island in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu is also related to Ramayana, because the Shivalinga here was installed by Shri Ram.  Lord Ram and Sita Devi had prayed here.  After offering prayers at Sri Ranganathaswamy temple in Tiruchirappalli district, PM Modi arrived here in an Air Force helicopter and was given a warm welcome by BJP workers and local people.
 Before going to Rameshwaram, Prime Minister Modi visited Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Tiruchirappalli.  Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple is famous for its architecture, grandeur and its numerous iconic gopurams.  The main deity worshiped in the temple is Sri Ranganatha Swamy, who is the reclining form of Lord Vishnu.  Vaishnav scriptures mention the connection between the idol worshiped in this temple and Ayodhya.
