Assam's Highest Civilian Award For Ex-CJI Ranjan Gogoi

Assam Baibhav: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma made a big announcement on Tuesday (January 16).  He said that former CJI and Rajya Sabha MP Ranjan Gogoi will be given Assam Vaibhav Award.
Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote on social media,"It is with great pleasure I share that the Government of Assam will confer Assam Baibhav, the State’s Highest Civilian award, to Hon’ble Member of Parliament and Former Chief Justice of India,  Justice Shri Ranjan Gogoi dangoriya.
Being the first judge from the North East to occupy the august office of Chief Justice of India, this award recognises his exceptional efforts to expand the delivery of justice and enrich our jurisprudence."
