An IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Guwahati was reportedly forced to make an emergency landing in Bangladesh capital Dhaka due to dense fog on Saturday. After being unable to land at Guwahati airport, the flight was diverted to Dhaka, more than 400 kilometers from the Assam capital.
Former Mumbai Youth Congress chief Suraj Singh Thakur, who was going to attend Congress' Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Imphal, said in a post on X that he was on a flight from Mumbai to Guwahati when the flight was diverted. He wrote that I took Indigo 6E flight number 6E 5319 from Mumbai to Guwahati. But due to dense fog the flight could not land in Guwahati. Instead, it landed in Dhaka. He told that all the passengers on board the flight had crossed the international border without their passports. Thakur said, passengers are still inside the plane.
