The Gujarat High Court has reiterated its stand on the sanctity of cows in India, saying God will not forgive those who kill animals and leave them to rot. The court made this observation in response to a case related to the stray cattle problem in Kheda district, where carcasses of cattle were found in open land plots.
The Court had earlier expressed strong objection to the treatment of cattle and emphasized that cows are worshiped in India. During the recent hearing, the officials were accused of forcibly transporting the cattle, but they denied the allegations and said that the cattle were being worshiped before being taken to the cattle pound.
The court is hearing petitions seeking contempt of court action against the state government for failing to curb the stray cattle problem, which has resulted in several deaths due to cattle attacks. The government has been criticized for failing to come up with a comprehensive policy to address the issue.
The High Court's emphasis on cow worship and its concern for the safety of citizens reflects the importance of these issues in Indian society. The Court's instructions to officials demonstrate its commitment to holding the government accountable and ensuring the well-being of both cattle and citizens.
