Akshay Kumar recently announced that he has ended his bond with pan masala.  He is no longer going to be seen in this advertisement.  Meanwhile, a notice has been issued by the court to all three actors Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar regarding the Pan Masala ad case.  Responding to a contempt petition, the Central Government informed the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad Court that it has issued notices to these three Bollywood stars in connection with the advertisements made for Gutkha companies.
The Central Government's lawyer informed the High Court on Friday that the Supreme Court is also hearing this matter.  In such a situation the petition should be rejected immediately.  After the arguments, the bench has fixed May 9, 2024 for the next hearing.  The bench of Justice Rajesh Singh Chauhan had directed that first the Central Government should take a decision on the representation of the petitioner.  He had originally argued that action should be taken against actors and dignitaries who were given big awards but were doing advertisements for gutkha companies.
