ICC announces team of World Cup 2023: Rohit Sharma has been made the captain of the team of International Cricket Council (ICC) ODI World Cup 2023 tournament. The team, which was announced on Monday, November 20, a day after the mega match in Ahmedabad, includes 6 Indian players including Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami. Australia captain Pat Cummins, who lifted the trophy at Narendra Modi Stadium, could not make his place in this team. Trevid Head, who scored a century for Australia in the final, also did not get a place in this team.
Glenn Maxwell and Adam Zampa are the only two players from the ODI World Cup-winning Australian team in this curated XI selected by the ICC. South Africa's young fast bowler Gerland Coetzee has been named the 12th player of the ICC team.
Out of the 10 teams participating in the World Cup, players from 5 teams were selected in the team of the tournament. No player from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Netherlands and Bangladesh could participate in it.
