Deep pressure on Bay of Bengal changed due to Cyclone 'Midhili'

The deep depression over the north-western Bay of Bengal has turned into a cyclonic storm today, Friday, November 17.  According to the Meteorological Department, this storm is moving towards the Bangladesh coast with a maximum speed of 80 km per hour.  However, it will pass through Sundarban before landing.  It has been named 'Midhili'.  'Midhili' will cross the Bangladesh coast on the night of 17 November or the morning of 18 November.
According to the national weather agency, the system over the Bay of Bengal was centered about 190 km east of Paradip (Odisha), 200 km south-southeast of Digha (West Bengal) and 220 km south-west of Khepupara (Bangladesh) at 5.30 am on Friday. 
The cyclonic storm is likely to move north-northeastwards and cross Bangladesh coast near Khepupara with winds reaching 60-70 kmph gusting to 80 kmph during the night of November 17 or morning of November 18, the IMD said.
