Tonight, the last eclipse of the year 2023 will be seen in the country and the world.  This will be a partial lunar eclipse.  This lunar eclipse can be seen at many places in India.  The eclipse will be visible in India, hence Sutak period will be valid.  Sutak continues from 4 pm.  The lunar eclipse will start after midnight at 1:05 am and will continue till 2:24 am.  This eclipse will occur on Ashwini Nakshatra and Aries.
The last lunar eclipse of the year will begin in just a few hours from now.  During lunar eclipse, there are restrictions on worship, auspicious work and eating food.  There is a belief that if a person eats food during the eclipse period, then the grains of that food enter the stomach and the person has to go to hell for years.  Therefore one should avoid eating food during the eclipse period.  However, old people, sick people and children are exempted from this.  Food can be consumed up to 3 hours before the eclipse i.e. one hour before and when the eclipse is completely over, food can be consumed after taking bath, worship etc.
