Bishan Singh Bedi Passes Away: A bad news has come to light amid the ODI World Cup 2023 being hosted by India. Former Indian captain and the country's greatest left-arm spinner Bishan Singh Bedi died on Monday after a prolonged illness. He was 77 years old. Bishan Singh Bedi was a part of the famous spin bowling quartet (Bedi, Prasanna, Chandrashekhar, Raghavan) in the 1970s. He was born on 25 September 1946 in Amritsar. He played Test cricket for India from 1966 to 1979.
Bishan Singh Bedi also captained India in 22 test matches. He took 266 wickets in 67 test matches. Bedi ended her first-class cricket career with 1560 wickets. He is survived by his wife Anju, son Angad and daughter Neha. Apart from being a national selector, he was also a mentor to many talented spinners like Maninder Singh and Murali Karthik.
