Lawsuits have been filed against three foreign subsidiaries of Dabur India in America and Canada. Dabur's sister companies are facing lawsuits over allegations that its 'hair-relaxer' product may cause uterine cancer and other health-related problems. Several lawsuits have been filed against the companies in federal and state courts in the US and Canada. The companies against which cases have been filed are Namaste Laboratories LLC, Dermoviva Skin Essentials Inc and Dabur International Limited.
In the information given to the stock market by Dabur India late night, it was said, 'Lawsuits have been filed in both federal and state courts in the US and Canada.' The company said that there are around 5,400 cases in the multi-district litigation, in which Namaste, Dermoviva and DINTL along with some other industry companies have been made as defendants.
The company said that some customers have alleged that the hair relaxer product contains chemicals whose use can cause uterine cancer and other health problems. According to the latest report, Dabur India has 27 associate companies. These companies had contributed 26.60 percent to the company's income from integrated operations in the year 2022-23. Responding to this entire matter, Dabur said that these allegations have not been confirmed.
