The Central Government unified four President's Gallantry Medals

President Gallantry Medal: The Central Government has made four President Gallantry Medals one medal with immediate effect.  It will be called 'President Gallantry Medals'.  Earlier, separate funds were given for police, fire service, home guard and civil defense and reform service.
 It is noteworthy that the medal is given to honor the police for long service, good conduct, dedication to duty, efficiency, participation in any campaign or any operation.  Apart from the police, the army is also awarded medals like Ashok Chakra, Veer Chakra and Kirti Chakra.
 Recommendations are invited twice
 The Ministry of Defense invites::: recommendations for gallantry awards of the Armed Forces and the Union Home Ministry twice a year.  Recommendations are generally invited in the month of August for the awards to be announced on the occasion of Republic Day and Independence Day.
