Bihar: North East Express derails in Buxar, 4 killed, more than 100 injured

A major rail accident has occurred in Bihar's Buxar district, where the North East Express going from Delhi's Anand Vihar station to Guwahati's Kamakhya station met with an accident.  21 coaches of this train have derailed.  According to Buxar DM Anshul Aggarwal, 4 people have died so far.  More than 100 people have been injured in this accident.  About 20 of the injured have been referred to Patna AIIMS for treatment.  The remaining injured are being treated in the local hospital.

 According to the information, 21 coaches of the train have been derailed, which also includes 2 AC coaches.  The accident happened near Raghunathpur railway station.  As soon as the information was received, Railway Department officials and relief rescue team reached the spot.  At present the reasons for the incident have not been known.

 Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav is keeping an eye on this accident.  He said on social media, 'The train going from Delhi to Kamakhya has met with an accident near Buxar.  Apart from the DM and medical officers, I have also talked to other officers.  An alert has been issued.  NDRF and SDRF have been deployed.  Our priority is to save people's lives and provide treatment to the injured.  Helpline number has also been issued."
