Morocco Earthquake: A strong earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale was felt in the southwestern part of Marrakech, Morocco (Morocco) late on Friday (September 8), killing about 132 people.  However, the death toll has now risen to 296, according to the AP.  This has been confirmed by the Moroccan Interior Ministry itself.  Also talk US Geological Survey gave.  The quake was felt at around 11:11 pm.  The epicenter of the quake was 71 kilometers from Marrakech at a depth of 18.5 kilometers.
