Rohan Bopanna US Open 2023: India's Rohan Bopanna and Australia's Matthew Ebden have advanced to the men's doubles final of the US Open  Bopanna has made history with a powerful performance.  He has become the first player to reach the final at the age of 43 years and 6 months.  No player of this age has yet reached the final of a Grand Slam.
India's star Bopanna, along with partner Matthew Ebden, defeated French pair Pierre Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut 7-6(7-3), 6-2 in the semifinals on Thursday.  The bout lasted about 1 hour 34 minutes.  Earlier, Bopanna's pair had defeated the Americans in the quarterfinals.  Bopanna and Ebden defeated Nathaniel Lammons and Jackson Withrow 7-6 (10), 6-1.
 Bopanna has reached the Grand Slam final after 13 years.  They had previously reached the final in 2010.  His partner in 2010 was Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi of Pakistan.  Bopanna has reached the men's doubles final of a Grand Slam for the second time.  Interestingly, Rohan Bopanna became the mixed doubles champion of the French Open in  But he has yet to win a Grand Slam men's doubles title.  He reached the final at the age of 43 years and 6 months.  He is the oldest player to reach a Grand Slam final in the Open era.
