Hearing on restoration of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir completed, SC reserved verdict

The Supreme Court hearing on Article 370 has been completed.  The Supreme Court has reserved its verdict.  The hearing on the petitions challenging the Supreme Court's decision to remove Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir lasted for 16 days.  The petitioners demand that Article 370 be restored in Jammu and Kashmir and its full state status be restored.
 A five-judge Constitution Bench headed by the Chief Justice heard the petitions relating to Article  The bench comprised Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice SK Kaul, Justice Sanjeev Khanna, Justice BR Gavai and Justice Suryakant.
 Senior counsel Kapil Sibal, Gopal Subramaniam, Rajiv Dhawan, Zafar Shah and Dushyant Dave expressed their views in favor of restoring Section 370 of the Constitution.  Attorney General R Venkataramani, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, senior counsel Harish Salve, Rakesh Dwivedi and V Giri sided with the central government and justified the decision to delete Article 370.
 On the last day of the hearing, the Supreme Court said that if the petitioner or the respondent wishes to say something in writing, it can do so for the next three days.
