Independence Day 2023: Posthumously awarded Kirti Chakra to CRPF heroes on the occasion of Independence Day,

Independence Day 2023: On the occasion of the country's 77th Independence Day, the security forces were announced to be awarded heroism awards and police medals.  President Draupadi Murmu also approved the posthumous awarding of four Kirti Chakras and 33 Virta Padals to Central Armed Police Force (CRPF) personnel on the eve of Independence Day.  The CRPF has been awarded a total of 76 gallantry awards.  Dilip Kumar Das, Raj Kumar Yadav, Bablu Rabha and Sambha Roy of CRPF have been awarded the posthumous Kirti Chakra.  All these soldiers were involved in separate operations in Kashmir and elsewhere.
 Of the 33 gallantry medals awarded to the Central Armed Police Force (CRPF), 20 were awarded for five separate operations conducted in Jammu and Kashmir, besides the remaining 13 medals for gallantry during four operations in Left militancy affected areas  for the given.  These soldiers and officers sacrificed their lives fighting the enemies of the country.
