Nationaldesk:

The Supreme Court had given market regulator SEBI till August 14 to probe the Adani-Hindenburg case and the deadline expired today.  Meanwhile, the big news is that SEBI has sought another 15 days to complete its probe and file it in court.  Earlier, it was likely that the market regulator has finalized its report and could file it in court today.
The Supreme Court has twice granted additional time::
The Supreme Court had ordered SEBI to conduct a detailed probe into the matter after the turmoil in the Adani Group on January 24 following the publication of the report by US short seller firm Hindenburg and the sharp fall in the shares of Adani companies.  The court had on March 2, 2023 directed the market regulator to investigate any violations before and after the publication of Hindenburg's report on Adani Group.
The Supreme Court had given SEBI till May 2 to complete the probe.  However, in the last week of April, a petition was filed by SEBI seeking an additional six months for the probe, after which the deadline for completion of the probe was extended to August 14, which ended today  SEBI has again sought another 15 days.
