Wrestling Federation of India has formally approved the membership application of the Assam Wrestling Association

The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has formally approved the membership application of the Assam Wrestling Association (AWA).  The decision was announced after the Indian Olympic Association's ad-hoc committee for wrestling confirmed the acceptance of AWA as a member of the national federation.
The WFI's decision to grant membership to AWA signifies a step towards further strengthening the sport of wrestling in the region and ensuring a more inclusive representation in national-level competitions and events.  With this development, wrestlers from Assam will have a greater platform to showcase their talent and compete at the national level.
As an official member of the WFI, the AWA will now have access to resources, guidance, and support from the national governing body, which is expected to boost the growth of wrestling in the state.
