Two Assamese weightlifters won gold medals at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships held in Noida, Uttar Pradesh from July  11 .Siddhant Gogoi won the gold medal in the junior 61kg category.  Siddhant lifted 112 kg in the snatch and 148 kg in the clean and jerk.  Popi Hazarika won the gold medal in the women's 59kg senior category.  Poppy lifted 84 kg in the snatch and 105 kg in the clean and jerk.
